George III Style Marble Top Mahogany Serving / Console Table, Early 20th Century

$7,900.00

Elegant George III style serving / console table, made in Italy in the early to mid-20th century and finely crafted in solid mahogany with a removable veined marble top. The table reflects the classical English design influence popular in Italian furniture production of the period, combining refined proportions with high-quality carving and materials. The rectangular top is fitted with a beautifully veined marble slab, removable for transport and cleaning, and resting securely within the carved wooden frame. The mahogany base is richly hand carved, with clean lines and restrained decoration in keeping with the George III taste. The table stands on six finely shaped tapered legs, providing both stability and elegance, and allowing the long form to remain well balanced across its full width. The carving is precise and well executed throughout, demonstrating very good Italian craftsmanship of the early to mid-20th century. Because of its size, the piece is highly versatile and can be used as a serving table, console table, sideboard, or display table, suitable for dining rooms, living rooms, entry halls, or galleries, and easily adaptable to both traditional and transitional interiors. The table measures approximately 33 1/2 inches high, 6 feet 2 3/4 inches wide, and 22 3/4 inches deep. Overall in good & very sturdy condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use.
