19th century French Empire style handcrafted gilt bronze mahogany framed upholstered pair of armchair. Each armchairs is set on four straight mahogany legs, the front two of which are set on gilt bronze paw feet. Gilt bronze sphinxes serve as arm rests, supporting the padded arms on their outstretched wings. Each chair is in great antique condition with appropriate wear consistent with age / use. Immaculate upholstery. Each armchair measures 39 inches high x 25 inches wide x 22 inches deep x 17 inches seat high.
